I love to read, and I love to write. I also love to sing.
Those passions have served me well through the years.
About Rebecca
I grew up in New York as a child of Holocaust survivors. My father read mostly newspapers, but my mother was a huge fan of novels. She read anything and everything she could get her hands on. As a result there was always a stack of paperbacks on her night table and around the house. As soon as my mother was done reading a book, I would borrow it, and get lost in the lives, loves and adventures of the characters.
My first story was an assignment for the second grade. I wrote about a blintz (crepe) that decided that it didn’t want to be eaten, so it jumped off the breakfast plate, slid down a leg of the kitchen table and ran away. I had fun letting my imagination take over. Writing came naturally to me and reading was an absolute joy. While I got lost in the tales that others told, as I got older and started to write more, I found that creating and getting lost in my own tales was even more exciting.
After college, I earned a paralegal certificate. I learned how to write using "legal" language and I enjoyed it.
Soon after, I married, had three kids and life continued. When my kids were already in their late teens, I started to work on my Welcome to the Enchanted Forest series. One day, I just sat down at my computer and started to type. My fingers kept moving on the keyboard and before long I had written four middle grade fantasy/fiction books. Unfortunately, life got in the way, so I saved my stories and walked away, hoping that one day I would be able to get back to them.
This past year, I have been inspired to work on my books again. I recently completed Book One of my series and am looking forward to having it published sometime in the fall of 2023. In addition, I’ve written a number of short stories, which you can read here. I intend to continue writing short stories, adding to the collection, and hoping to publish them sometime in the future.
Music is another one of my passions. When I listen to a song, I get caught up in both the music and the lyrics. Music truly makes me feel. I started with piano lessons at the age of eight. I don’t really play much anymore. Now I sing. Life has dealt my family some hard blows and I sing to release all of my emotions. I have a YouTube channel which showcases my songs and I continue to build on that. You can watch my videos here. I hope you enjoy the music!
